This Privacy Policy explains what information the Potion Clash mobile game ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and what choices you have. We have designed the app to collect as little personal data as possible.
The data controller for the app is Norman Visby. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at: Normanvisby@gmail.com.
You can play the whole game without creating an account. By default the app signs you in anonymously, which does not require any personal information such as your name or email.
Your game progress and settings (level, coins, potions, stars, best times, sound preferences) are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is removed if you delete the app or clear its storage.
If you choose to save your progress to the cloud so you can play across devices, you can create an account with an email address and password. This is entirely optional and is the only feature that collects personal data.
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you create an account | To sign you in, restore your save on another device, and let you reset your password |
| Password | Only if you create an account | To protect your account. It is stored securely (hashed) by our authentication provider — we never see or store your raw password |
| Display name | If you appear on the leaderboard | Shown next to your score on the public global leaderboard. You choose this name and it does not have to be your real name |
| Game progress (levels, coins, potions, stars, best times) | If you create an account | To back up and restore your game in the cloud |
| Leaderboard stats (highest level, total stars, best time) | As you play | To rank players on the public global leaderboard |
The app shows rewarded video ads supplied by Google AdMob. You choose when to watch these ads (for example, to earn a hint or a bonus) — they are optional. To serve ads, AdMob may collect and process device information such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, and ad-interaction data. We have configured AdMob for a family/child-directed audience with content limited to a G rating, which restricts the data used for advertising. We do not combine this ad data with your account. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Account and cloud-save data is stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, which processes the data on our behalf. You can read about Supabase's security and privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy. Data may be processed on servers located outside your country, with appropriate safeguards in place.
The global leaderboard is public: your chosen display name and your score statistics (highest level, total stars, best time) are visible to other players. Please do not use your full real name or any sensitive information as your display name.
Potion Clash is family-friendly and suitable for young children. Because creating an account involves providing an email address, account creation should be done by a parent or guardian, or with their permission. Children can play the entire game without an account and without providing any personal data.
We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children than the optional email and display name described above. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, you can delete it at any time (see below) or contact us and we will remove the data.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We keep your account and cloud-save data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the data is removed. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete the app or clear its data.
Any in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced in the app.
